Working to change lives
As a CDAS volunteer, you’ll play a vital role in creating a welcoming, supportive space in our drug and alcohol service in Stoke-on-Trent.
You'll work alongside people who are using our services. You might welcome people, share information about different types of help, support groups alongside staff, or help the service run smoothly.
We offer different volunteering roles, from working directly with clients and families to supporting reception and administration. Check out our latest volunteer opportunities.
Our volunteers are as varied as the roles they undertake, and we encourage applications from all walks of life, including those with lived experience of drugs or alcohol.
We value lived experience
The majority of our volunteers across a diverse range of roles have lived experience of drugs, alcohol and mental health. Our volunteers with lived experience bring huge value to CDAS, but it's always up to you if or how you share your story to support others on their recovery journey.
Volunteers with lived experience demonstrate visible recovery and act as positive role models. As a volunteer, working alongside staff, you'd help support our clients through things like welcoming people to the service, sharing information about the different types of support options, helping to run support groups, accompanying staff who are visiting clients in the community, or helping to organise events to promote our services.
